            The DEVAVESM Palace was once the residence of King Rama 5’s younger brother Prince Devawongvarophakarn recognized as the Father of foreign affairs in Thailand. Prince Devawongvarophakarn was also the head of the Ministers Council and the second most important figure in the government next to King Rama 5 and 6.

THE DESIGN
The DEVAVESM Mansion was designed and constructed under the supervision of Mr. Edward Healey and under a company known as Siam Architect. Other buildings in the complex including a boathouse were designed and constructed by Italian engineer
 

THE ARCHITECTURE
The Main Mansion stands stylishly in its neo-classic splendor incorporating Greek and Roman architecture to ornament its appearance. At present, DEVAVESM Palace Complex contains 4 buildings – the Main Mansion, the Boathouse, Mom Lamaii Residence and Mom Chan Residence.

  FEATURE ROOMS IN THE MAIN MANSION

1. Thepthai Prathanpon Room 
          The Thepthi Pratanpron Room is located on the second floor of the West Wing. Prince Devawongwarophakarn made it a Reception Room for his relatives and important guests. After his passing, this room was used for his merit-making funeral service.

2. Samosorn Panya Room
          Also on the second floor of the West Wing was used as a billiard room while Price Devawongwarophakarn was still alive. Now the room serves as a lecture and conference room.

 

EXHIBIT ROOMS IN THE MAIN MANSION DEVAVESM PALACE.   

1. Thepsathit Sathaporn Room
     This is a exhibition on the life story and works of His Royal Highness Prince Devawongse Varopakarn.

2. Buransathanburana Room
     This is a exhibition on the architect and restoration of Devavesm Palace.
