Bank of Thailand has responsibility to oversight e-Payment services by using two laws as follows:
- The Royal Decree Regulating Electronic Payment Service Business, B.E. (2551) 2008 which announce in the government gazette on September 16, 2008 and went into effect on January 14, 2009
- B.E. Notification of the Ministry of Finance: Business that Requires a Permit According to Section 5 of the Notification of the Revolution Council No. 58 (Business of Electronic Money Card) dated October 4, 2004
E-payment services that are applicable under the law comprise of 8 categories as follows:
