BAHTNET
BAHTNET is a Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system which served for settling large value funds transfer between financial institutions or other organizations maintaining deposit accounts at the Bank of Thailand.

Bank of Thailand  developed an electronic large-value funds transfer, known as BAHTNET (Bank of Thailand Automated High value Transfer Network). It is designed to mitigate risk in payment systems so as to facilitate settlement in effective, secured and timely manner on Real Time Gross Settlement basis (RTGS) since 24 May 1995.   It is  served as a financial infrastructure for interbank funds and third-party funds transfer between Bank of Thailand (BOT) and institutions which maintain current or settlement accounts at BOT.

Prior to the BAHTNET implementation, payments among financial institutions were mainly executed by cheque in which the payees could not receive their funds instantly due to collecting and settlement process between paying bank and receiving bank. Consequently, there was a risk incurred to payee because the payment finality had not instantly achieved, possibly lead to the greater risk in payment systems as a whole.
