Mr. Veerathai Santiprabhob, Governor of the Bank of Thailand and H.E. Chea Chanto, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia together with high-level delegations fromboth sides participated in a bilateral meeting between the two institutions on 18 February 2020 in Bangkok, Thailand. The annual bilateral meeting aims at strengthening cooperation and deepening relationships between the two central banks, which helps further enhance financial cooperation and promote sustainable economic growth of Cambodia and Thailand going forward.
On this occasion, the two governors, H.E. Mr. Ouk Sorphorn Ambassador of Cambodia to the kingdom of Cambodia and representatives of Thai and Cambodian commercial banks, Thai Bankers’ Association as well as National ITMX have gathered to witness the launch of the Interoperable QR Code for retail payment linkage between Cambodia and Thailand, which is a joint collaboration between Siam Commercial Bank and commercial banks in Cambodia, namely ACLEDA Bank PCL, Cambodia Commercial Bank (CCB) and Foreign Trade Bank of Cambodia (FTB). The collaboration will allow Cambodian and Thai customers to scan QR code and make payments between Thailand and Cambodia
