The Cabinet has approved that Wednesday 16th, Thursday 17th, and Friday 18th November 2022 shall be special public holidays for Bangkok, Nonthaburi, and Samut Prakan for the 29th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting and related meetings, and allowed the Bank of Thailand (BOT) to consider whether it is appropriate to announce them as additional holidays for financial institutions and specialized financial institutions.
The BOT has considered and deemed appropriate to declare that the aforementioned days shall be standard working days for financial institutions and specialized financial institutions, so as to avoid any disruption to economic activities, as financial institutions and specialized financial institutions are important intermediaries which provide financial services for the business sector and the public. To facilitate the meetings, the BOT has asked for cooperation from financial institutions and specialized financial institutions to consider any services that are not crucial to the public, to work from home instead.
