Mrs. Chantavarn Sucharitakul, Assistant Governor of the Bank of Thailand, chaired the Fourth Advisory Committee Meeting of the IMF Technical Assistance Office for the Lao P.D.R. and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar (TAOLAM) at the Bank of Thailand on 18 January 2018. The meeting discussed TAOLAM’s activities in 2017 and endorsed strategic priorities for 2018. The representatives from the Central Banks, and the Ministries of Finance of Cambodia, Lao P.D.R., Myanmar, Vietnam, as well as representatives of the Government of Japan, IMF and observers from the Delegation of the European Union to Thailand, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Embassy of Japan, and the Fiscal Policy Office (Thailand) participated in the Meeting.
TAOLAM, established in 2012 located in Bangkok, Thailand, provides capacity development programs initially to Lao P.D.R. and Myanmar, and additionally to Cambodia and Vietnam in mid-2015 on Public Financial Management Monetary Policy and Operations, Macro-financial Analysis, and External Sector and Government Finance Statistics. TAOLAM’s activities are supported by the Government of Japan and the Bank of Thailand.
