Mrs. Vireka Suntapuntu is currently the Assistant Governor of Corporate Service Group at the Bank of Thailand (BOT). She oversees the operations and development in areas such as human resources management, procurement, financial accounting, and internal organizational management, ensuring alignment with BOT policies and international standards to support the core mission of the BOT.

 

Mrs. Vireka was the Senior Director of Specialized Financial Institution and Examination Department, Supervision Group, Bank of Thailand (BOT). Her roles covered in assessing the soundness of SFIs’ policies and procedures involved with their business operations, proposed financial products and services in granting relevant approvals. Furthermore, she was the Financial Institution Business Supervision Department, where she was responsible for the granting of licenses and supervisory approvals to financial institutions under the BOT’s supervision. She had also served as Head of Consolidated Supervision and Credit Risk Division, Head of Accounting Policy Team, Head of Capital and Market Risk Team and Head of Credit Risk Team under the Prudential Policy Department. Earlier, she had also received training at other organizations, such as Sukhumvit Asset Management Company, and was a secondee at the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA). Prior to joining the BOT, Mrs. Vireka worked as an assistant auditor at SGVN Arthur Andersen (KPMG acquired Andersen in 2002).

 

Mrs. Vireka graduated with Second-Class honors from the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, Thammasat University, Thailand and holds an MBA in Finance from Southwest Missouri State University.
