Lessons learnt from “TomYam Kung Crisis”
The 1997 Asian Financial Crisis or “TomYam Kung Crisis” which was the day that Thailand announced the float of the Baht and had to request financial assistance from the International Monetary Fund. The financial crisis significantly impacted and damaged the Thai economy and spread throughout the ASEAN region and other countries in Asia until it escalated into a financial crisis.
