Ms. Wipawin Promboon

Ms. Wipawin Promboon  is currently the Assistant Governor of the Financial Institutions Policy Group at the Bank of Thailand (BOT), responsible for Financial Institutions Strategy, Regulatory Policy, Financial Institution Business Supervision, and Financial Stability departments. Additionally, she serves as secretary of the Financial Institutions Policy Committee. 

Prior to this role, she served as the Senior Director of the Financial Institutions Strategy Department, responsible for formulating Financial Landscape direction and driving key policy initiatives under the Financial Landscape direction that promotes financial innovation, financial access, and transition towards digital and sustainable economy, such as “Your Data” project, Virtual Banking, “Financing the Transition” project. In addition, she has experiences in several departments at the BOT, e.g., Financial Stability, Regulatory Policy, Banking Supervision, Financial Markets, and Corporate Strategy. She was seconded to the Financial Stability Institute, Bank for International Settlements during 2002.

 

Ms. Wipawin received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Chulalongkorn University, a Master of Business Administration from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and a Ph.D in Finance from Kenan-Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
