17 Oct 2026

Mr. Vitai Ratanakorn, Governor of the Bank of Thailand (BOT), delivered the opening remarks at the 41st Annual Group of Thirty (G30) International Banking Seminar, jointly organized by the G30 and the BOT during the 2026 IMF–World Bank Group Annual Meetings, on 17 October 2026 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok. The seminar was held under the theme “Balancing Innovation and Stability in Modern Digital Finance.”

The Governor underscored that financial innovation and AI can enhance productivity and expand access to financial services, but must be accompanied by effective safeguards to protect consumers, preserve financial stability, and maintain public trust. He also stressed that digital financial fraud is a cross-border challenge requiring international cooperation, highlighting the Bangkok Blueprint for Fraud-Resilient Financial Services, championed by the BOT and developed jointly with the IMF and the World Bank Group, as an important framework for advancing a more coordinated global response.
