Saeju
Ms. Daranee Saeju is the Assistant Governor in charge of the Strategy and Special Projects Group. She leads the Bank of Thailand’s strategic direction, ensuring that the central bank’s long-term objectives remain aligned with the evolving economic and financial landscape. She also drives critical initiatives in economic restructuring and financial infrastructure transformation to support the sustainable well-being of the Thai people and society.
With over 25 years of service at the Bank of Thailand, Ms. Daranee has extensive expertise across a broad range of key functions, including payment systems policy, financial innovation, information technology risk supervision, digital fraud and scam management, market conduct supervision, enterprise risk management, monetary policy formulation and implementation, foreign exchange policy and intervention strategy, financial market and financial sector development, financial stability, micro- and macroprudential regulation, and international relations strategy.
From 2009 to 2011, she was seconded to the Monetary and Capital Markets Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), where she served as an expert on monetary and foreign exchange operations and market developments.
Ms. Daranee holds a B.Sc. in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (United Kingdom) and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Rochester (United States).
