On 30 June 2025, the Bank of Thailand, in collaboration with the Digital Government Development Agency (Public Organization), the Metropolitan Electricity Authority, the Provincial Electricity Authority, the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority, and the Provincial Waterworks Authority, officially launched “a Service for Issuing Water and Electricity Records” through the “Tang Rat” application. This service allows individuals to request their utility usage and payment history for use as supporting documents when applying for loans with financial institutions. The initiative is part of the “Your Data” Project, which empowers citizens to securely and conveniently share their personal data through digital channels to access better financial services.

Under this service, individuals listed as water or electricity contract holders can request and download their records free of charge through the Tang Rat application. These verified digital records can then be submitted to financial service providers as part of loan applications, helping improve access to credit—particularly for those without regular income or pay slips. 

Furthermore, loan providers receiving these records can benefit from machine-readable formats and digital signatures, ensuring authenticity and preventing tampering. This enhances operational efficiency, reduces verification costs, and improves service delivery for the public. 

The Bank of Thailand expects this initiative to benefit individuals and plans to expand the use of these records to other financial services in the future.
